That's right, folks...way way back in 2010, I began work on a pretty cool webcomic called Fight or Flight, written by amazing local writer, celebrity personality, and swashbuckling swordsman David Crampton. Unfortunately I had to beg off the project two years later due to a slight case of madness (no, really), so the project languished for nearly five years.
Well, guess what? Our plucky robot friends are back in their all-new adventures! I'm still deciding how best to get back into the swing of things; I've been given a generous lead-time, so part of me wants to revamp the whole thing with CGI-type illustrations (3-D stuff, like Toy Story). The reason for this is because, while Chapter Zero looks pretty good, by Chapter One things start to look pretty tired; I was assembling the robots from 2-D bits and pieces, which gets extremely tedious. Why not create the scenes in 3-D and take screenshots instead? Naturally this will alter the look of the comic, but I think it would be worth it...
Anyway, just spitballing. I'll probably end up going with my original process anyway, I'm pretty bad with software. But who knows? There are freeware 3-D modelers out there, and I've experimented before. We'll see what happens. I'm really excited, and I know Messieur Crampton (the "n" is silent) is stoked as well, although he hides it well behind his enigmatic, ladykilling exterior.
I should throw in a short synopsis:

Chapter Zero cover, featuring First! |
I should throw in a short synopsis:
In a robot-storage compound, an all-powerful AI system awakens...and realizes it has forgotten its mission. The AI decides to activate a particular robot named FIRST, who is supposed to set about re-activating the other robots in order to fulfill their purpose. Problem is, FIRST doesn't know what he's doing, either! And considering some of the doomsday automatons lurking in this place, it's only a matter of time before he presses the wrong button...
More updates soon! Just as soon as I, like FIRST, figure out what I'm doing...
Rick Out.
Update 11/9: My efforts to find 3d software were set back a bit when Daz Studio, after an hour of downloading, was "Not configured for this kind of Mac" - by which it means, I guess, the ten-year-old variety. I need a new computer...anywho, I went ahead and ordered Manga Studio for other purposes anyway, so hopefully I can utilize this comics software to good effect on FoF.
